Factors associated with Malnutrition Study:
 
We conducted a study on the factors associated with malnutrition among children aged 12 to 24 months in Podagarh , Durdura and Rugudi Grampanchayats of Jashipur Block areas in Mayurbhanj District of Orissa under the programme Strengthening of Health Research in NGO in INDIA sponsored by Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai in partnership with Sree Chitra Tirumal Institute for medical sciences. Technology BAIF , Development Research foundation, Child in Need Institute and Institute of Health Management.

 The study had 3 specific objectives:
  • To ascertain the proportion of malnourished children 12 to 24 months in the study area
  • To determine the factors associated with malnutrition among the proposed target groups.
  • To develop an action plan to control malnutrition in the study area
Study on Devolution of Power:
 
CREFTDA conducted a study on devolution of power in Mayurbhanj district in collaboration with OPDSC, Rayagada which was supported by PRIA, New Delhi during the year 2008-09
 
Study area: The study was conducted in five Gram Pancyats of four blocks of Mayurbhanj district.
 
Objectives: The objectives of the study were as follows:
  • To determine and assess the capacity of the GPs to deal with the subjects handed over to them by the State Government.
  • To find out the structural and systemic changes at the GP level in delivering the benefits and facilities to the communities.
  • To study the awareness level of the GP functionaries regarding the devolution and their role in it.
  • To determine the functional link among the Gram Panchayat functionaries & their functional link with the departments.
  • To study the people’s participation in planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation process of all the developmental programmes through Gramsabha and Pallisabha.
  • Study on Behaviour Change Communication:
 
A study we was conducted with the assistance of CARE- India (Orissa) on Behaviour Change Communication (BCC) in 9 villages where Palla (a local cultural media) was conducted under the Integrated Nutrition and Health Project (INHP). New born Care and Infant feeding practices.
 
 
An action Research Project undertaken by CREFTDA in 08 blocks of Mayurbhanj district:-
 
 We have been undertaking an Action Research Project namely Integrated Health and Nutrition Project (INHP) in collaboration with district administration (Health and ICDS) which has been supported by CARE-India (Orissa) since 2002. The objectives of the program were Reduction of Infant Mortality and Child Malnutrition (among 12-23 months old) in targeted areas.
