National Child Labour Project
The problem of child labour continues to pose a challenge before the nation. Government has been taking various pro-active measures to tackle this problem. However, considering the magnitude and extent of the problem and that it is essentially a socio-economic problem inextricably linked to poverty and illiteracy, it requires concerted efforts from all sections of the society to make a dent in the problem. Ministry of Labour and Employment, Government of India is running NCLP school to provide education to such children who are out of school and engaged as child labour. To address child labour issue at our end we are taking up a child Labour special school at Kalikapur of Karanjia block from 2010-11 for rehabilitation of Child Labour. In the School 50 (fifty) child workers are getting education. Four Education Instructors and one Vocational Instructor are imparting Non-formal/formal education along with the craft training the students. Students are provided MDM by the state government and stipend @ Rs.100/- per month are provided under the project by the government of India.
