Food Security livelihood Promotion

This program is very much unique which addresses food security and livelihood of the BPL category families through Panchayat with a four party agreement (Ahead initiatives,CREFTDA,Panchayat & local organization,Pallishri club). This program is supported by Ahead initiatives, Kolkata as the philosophy of the initiative matches with the vision of CREFTDA and started during Aug.2015.

 

We selected to work at village Bhadu sahi, Talak pokhari G.P of Kusumi block under Mayurbhanj District in a pilot basis as it is a backward and tribal dominated G.P. Most of the families are of below poverty line. The Santhal community is the major dominating tribe here and most of the areas are hilly and terrain.

 

We aim at-

â–º  Every poor family can avail food security and livelihood options by Panchayat self Governance.      
â–º Organized communities undertake initiatives without loosing their cultural heritage towards food security and lively hood.

 

Startegy-

â–£ MOU with Panchayat & local organisation, joint planning, identification of Sikhya nabis & resource mapping.
â–£ Advocacy at different level for need based support.
â–£ Strengthening Pallisabha & Gramsabha
â–£ Involvement of traditional leaders and community leaders during policy decision.

Outcome-

Malnutrition reducing, enhanced the skill of bio-crop, developed the trend of balanced diet intake, additional income, greater participation of the community during micro planning, convergence with different schemes and Panchayat monitoring the programmes
